Until the 1940s this was Budapest's largest limestone quarry, and much of the downtown's stone came from here. Its yellow quarry yards, stacked on three levels, now look like a small Grand Canyon, protected since 1977, with caves, a nature trail and climbers on the walls. From the 254-metre top you see the Pilis hills, the Megyeri Bridge and the Danube.
