Every Ramadan since 2022 the Keralite heart of Karama turns into an open kitchen after the iftar cannon: around 100 restaurants put out Malabar biryani, parotta, tapioca and beef, pazham pori and sulaimani tea, with community long-table iftars and impromptu Ramadan folk songs late into the night.
