Built by Sarkis Balyan in 1861 for Princess Adile Sultan, daughter of Mahmud II, on a Bosphorus headland with views from the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea from rooms on three sides. Reduced to four walls, it was rebuilt over ten years with Sakıp Sabancı's help and reopened in 2006 as a cultural centre with a museum and cafeteria.
