Opened in 1884, the zoo in Sete Rios is a Lisbon family institution: elephants, lions, koalas and flamingos in an old park, a dolphin bay, a reptile house, the Tigers' Valley and a cable car over the enclosures. Today it presents itself as a conservation and breeding centre.
