A 1670s hunting lodge of the first Marquis of Fronteira, still lived in by his descendants: azulejos everywhere, from Restoration War battle scenes in the Sala das Batalhas to satirical monkey panels, and a formal garden with a great tiled water tank, boxwood parterres and lead statues.
