Home of Bow Bells: tradition says a true Cockney is born within earshot of them. Founded around 1080 by Archbishop Lanfranc, it was rebuilt by Wren after 1666; its Norman crypt with round arches (the 'bows') gave the church its name and the Court of Arches, which still sits here.
