The most famous corrala of old Madrid (1872): wooden galleries round a courtyard, the tenement type of Galdós' novels, which inspired Chapí's zarzuela 'La Revoltosa'. A demolished neighbour opened a view into its patio, and the square below is used as an open-air stage.
