One of Madrid's oldest parishes, said to have been San Isidro's own church, on the site of a Christian temple of Islamic Madrid. Burned in 1936, its interior was rebuilt in 1986-1990; its attached Capilla de San Isidro (1657-1699), built where tradition places the saint's house, is a fine piece of Madrid baroque.
