Founded in the 4th century as one of Milan's Early Christian basilicas and rebuilt in the 16th-17th centuries for the Olivetan monks, whose monastery next door became the Science Museum in 1947. The gilded stucco dome was painted by Moncalvo and Daniele Crespi.
