Savvinskoye Podvorye courtyard

Саввинское подворье

MonumentLocal favourite

A 1907 Neo-Russian building with majolica and firebird tiles hidden behind a Stalin-era block on Tverskaya; in 1938 it was moved about 50 metres back from the street. You only see it if you walk through the archway, which is why Vedomosti calls it one of the centre's main secret addresses.
