A former shipyard (Akers Mekaniske Verksted, closed in 1982) rebuilt between 1986 and 1998 as a harbourfront promenade of restaurants, shops and flats, continuing onto the Tjuvholmen islet with the Astrup Fearnley Museum and upscale galleries. It is Oslo's main fjordside stroll, a few minutes from City Hall.
