The sunny west slope of Ekeberg, part nature reserve since 2008, with Oslo's oldest registered cultural remains: rock carvings by the old Sjømannsskolen. Locals go to the viewpoint near the school for sunrise and sunset over Hovedøya, Bleikøya, Nesodden and Bygdøy, away from the sculpture-park crowds.
