Artist-run since 1930, in a patterned red-brick building by Blakstad and Munthe-Kaas on the edge of the Palace Park, halfway between classicism and functionalism, with a stairwell decorated by Per Krohg. Every autumn it hosts Statens kunstutstilling, the "Høstutstillingen", the big annual show of Norwegian art.
