A late Art Nouveau palace (1911-12) at the foot of Wenceslas Square, crowned by Stanislav Sucharda's figures. Inside, the cross-shaped passage meets under a 170 m² dome made of thousands of decorated glass tiles. Here Prague's first automat sold an open sandwich or a lemonade from a coin slot, the start of the city's bufet habit; most visitors walk past the shop fronts outside.
