The only Vltava island laid out as a real park, dominated by the Neo-Renaissance Žofín Palace where Liszt and Berlioz played and Wagner conducted in 1863. Prague families come for the rowing-boat and pedal-boat rentals, the playground and the little steam-train replica; visitors on the embankment see it only from the bridge.
