A Suzhou Creek park on the site of Shanghai's first brewery (1911), whose Hudec-designed plant still stands, opened in 2005 to show the creek's clean-up. In the evening locals fish, practise tai chi and stroll the lit paths; it also hosts occasional evening markets.
