A museum for Katsushika Hokusai, creator of 'Under the Wave off Kanagawa', opened in November 2016 in Sumida, where he was born and spent most of his life. The four-storey building is by Kazuyo Sejima, and a permanent room uses full-size replicas with touch panels to tell his story, alongside changing exhibitions of originals.
