A villa garden built in 1915 for a Mitsubishi executive and later owned by the Iwasaki family, on the Kokubunji escarpment in western Tokyo. A bright lawn on the terrace drops to a spring-fed pond (about 37 litres a minute) under Musashino woodland with katakuri and other wildflowers in spring. A national Place of Scenic Beauty.
