Facing the Frari church for about 20 years, Frary's is the Arab-Greek kitchen Venetian food writers name first when they want something that is not cicchetti: falafel with hummus, dolmades with tzatziki, moussaka and maqluba, the Jordanian rice with almonds and pine nuts. It is also one of the easiest places in the centre for vegetarians and vegans.

Good to know
- Order the maqluba or the vegetable couscous with warm Arab bread; finish with baklava or the Greek almond biscuits.
- Many dishes are vegetarian or vegan; ask the staff, who explain unfamiliar dishes well.
- It faces the Frari basilica: pair it with a visit to Titian's Assunta.
