Founded in 1261 by flagellants, the second-oldest scuola in Venice and home of a relic of the True Cross given in 1369. Look for Pietro Lombardo's marble screen and courtyard (1478-81), Mauro Codussi's double staircase (1498) and the rococo Oratory of the Cross, for which Bellini and Carpaccio painted the Miracles cycle now in the Accademia.
