A small village of about 1,600 people, ringed by a narrow canal, on the lagoon side of the Lido, heir of ancient Metamauco, which was briefly the seat of the Doge before the government moved to Rialto. It has three little squares (Piazza Maggiore, Campo della Chiesa and Piazza delle Erbe), a bell tower and quiet canals, and was a separate comune until 1883. Lido residents come here for a slow evening walk.
