A 160-hectare protected area at the southern end of the Lido, with sand dunes 8 to 10 metres high, the tallest in the Adriatic. It is managed by WWF Veneto with the Comune, next to a large pine wood, and is a habitat for birds, endemic species and even sea turtles. For Venetians it is the wild end of their beach island, a short bike ride from town but nothing like the Lido's hotel strip.
