The marble Renaissance facade by Pietro Lombardo, Giovanni Buora, Mauro Codussi and Antonio Rizzo is the front door of Venice's civic hospital, still working. Upstairs, the confraternity's halls hold a museum of the history of medicine with an 'impossible library' of old medical books and the new San Clemente picture gallery.
