Built by the Vendramin family in 1622 as the Teatro San Luca, the oldest working theatre in Venice, where Carlo Goldoni worked from 1752. Renamed for him in 1875, closed in 1947 and reopened on 22 April 1979; now the Venice home of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto. Inside, see the tiers of boxes and the painted ceiling of the main hall.
