A small cemetery hidden behind the Danube dam at the Albern harbour for people the river washed up here between 1840 and 1940, many never identified. A current carried bodies to this bank; 478 unknown people were buried in the older, now overgrown part between 1840 and 1900, and the last burial took place in 1940. Nowhere else is a cemetery reserved solely for the victims of a river.
