The Brigittenau's everyday market, in existence since 1850 and rebuilt in 1963-65 as rows of bazaar-like shops, mixes cheap Austrian staples with Turkish and Balkan produce. It is where the district actually shops, with a roughly 700 square metre farmers' market on Fridays and Saturdays.
