Under Judenplatz, the centre of medieval Jewish Vienna, lie the foundations of the synagogue destroyed in the 'Wiener Gesera' pogrom of 1420/21. The museum shows the excavation and the life of Vienna's first Jewish community, right beside Rachel Whiteread's Shoah memorial.
