A dead-straight 4.5 km avenue of about 2,500 chestnut and other trees through the Green Prater, cut in 1537/38 under Ferdinand I to open up the imperial hunting grounds. It ends at the Lusthaus, a hunting pavilion rebuilt in 1781-1783 that is now a restaurant. This is where the Viennese jog, cycle and skate, away from the funfair.
