A few restored Biedermeier lanes right behind the MuseumsQuartier. Spittelberg was a separate suburb, named after the city's Bürgerspital that owned the land, until it was incorporated in 1850; its cramped lanes were long among the unhealthiest parts of the city. Today the houses hold small restaurants, bars and courtyard gardens.
