A harbour defence tower of 1516 on the Oudeschans; Hendrick de Keyser added the decorative upper half in 1606, bringing it to 48 metres. Its name comes from the Duke of Alba's planned castle 'Monte Albano', never built.

Good to know
- The best view is from the Sint Antoniessluis lock by the Rembrandt House, looking up the Oudeschans.
- Its nickname is 'Malle Jaap' (Crazy Jaap), because its bells used to start ringing at odd times.
