One building that carries the whole history of Kaleiçi: a 2nd-century Roman temple, then the Byzantine Panagia church, then a Seljuk mosque, a church again under the Lusignans and finally Şehzade Korkut's mosque. A fire in 1896 left only the stump of the minaret, hence 'the cut minaret'.
