Madrid's oldest surviving cemetery (1811), on the Cerro de las Ánimas behind San Isidro's hermitage, where the aristocracy built lavish family pantheons. Its fourth courtyard, the Patio de la Purísima Concepción, is an open-air museum of 19th- and 20th-century funerary sculpture.
