The small domed hermitage beside the spring San Isidro made flow, ordered by Empress Isabel in 1528 after its water cured Carlos V and young Felipe II. Each 15 May there is a field mass and a romería: madrileños drink from the miraculous spring and picnic around the shrine, one of the most castizo verbenas of the year.
