A Renaissance sanctuary begun in 1493 for a miraculous image of the Virgin (the miracle is dated 30 December 1485), entered through a colonnaded courtyard. Galeazzo Alessi designed the carved marble facade; in the ambulatory hang Gaudenzio Ferrari's Baptism of Christ and Moretto's Conversion of St Paul.
