The religious heart of medieval Oslo, a few streets from Middelalderparken: the foundations of St. Hallvard's Cathedral, the city's first cathedral, finished before 1130, when King Sigurd the Crusader was buried in its south wall, plus the 1200s Dominican friary of St. Olav and the small Korskirken. The church was torn down in 1669 after Christiania moved across the bay.
