Forest walk: Frognerseteren down to Holmenkollen

Ride the metro to the forest edge, warm up with rømmegrøt at Frognerseteren, then walk the forest road down to the Holmenkollen ski jump.

Best time: Clear days, all year (bring grips in winter)

    End of line 1; 5 min.

    Frognerseteren Restaurant and Café

    Rømmegrøt or coffee by the fire; 40 min.

    A traditional timber lodge at the forest edge above Holmenkollen where Oslo families end a ski or hike with rømmegrøt (sour-cream porridge) by the fireplace.

    Forest trail towards Holmenkollen

    About 3 km of forest road and trail; 40 min.

    Holmenkollen Ski Museum and Jump Tower

    Tower view (ticket) or look from outside (free); 45 min.

    Ski history museum at the foot of the famous jump; the same ticket takes you up the jump tower for the view over the city and fjord.

    Holmenkollen T-bane

    Line 1 back to the centre, about 23 min.
