A horseshoe-shaped 1887 music hall on boulevard Rochechouart, built on the site of the Boule Noire ballroom, that went from revue and Mistinguett to kung-fu and X-rated cinema before Philippe Starck redecorated it in 1987. Today its 1,400 places, moulded balconies and dome make it one of the most beautiful concert rooms in Paris.

Good to know
- For young artists a sold-out Cigale is often the step before breaking big, so watch the rap and indie line-ups (Time Out).
- La Boule Noire next door is the smaller room for emerging acts.
- Metro Anvers or Pigalle.
