Commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 as a temple to the glory of his armies and only consecrated as a church in 1845, it looks like a Greek temple ringed with columns. Saint-Saëns and Fauré were its organists, and the funerals of Chopin, Piaf, Coco Chanel, Josephine Baker and Johnny Hallyday were held here.
