With Hanspaulka, the best-known and oldest of Prague's garden-city villa quarters, planned on the English model: a central double building and villas of 1919-29 by Jaroslav Vondrák and Jan Šenkýř, then houses along the plane-tree avenue Cukrovarnická up to 1938. The central building mixes Art Nouveau and cubism. Locals stroll here on Sundays; visitors never leave the castle area for it.
