A 111 m long iron-and-glass greenhouse in the Schönbrunn park, commissioned by Franz Joseph in 1882 and glazed with about 45,000 panes. Three pavilions hold three climate zones; the oldest plant is a Spanish olive tree of about 350 years, and in spring and summer a giant water lily up to 1.2 m across.
