The blue-and-white GVB ferries behind Centraal Station cross the IJ for free; the longer ride to NDSM gives a 15-minute harbour tour with views of the station, the Eye and the docks. Amsterdammers ride them with their bikes as daily transport; it is the cheapest boat trip in the city.
