A triple-arched marble gate built for Emperor Hadrian's visit to Attaleia in AD 130, and the only city gate of the old walls still standing. It was walled up in Byzantine times and only fully dug out from 1882, then restored in 1959.

Good to know
- Look at the two towers: the southern one is Roman, while the northern one has a Roman base and a Seljuk upper part with an Arabic inscription from the reign of Alaeddin Keykubad I (en.wikipedia).
- The upper storey is lost; the columns are marble except the granite pillars.
- Start a half-day Kaleiçi walk here and follow Yivli Minare, Kesik Minare, the harbour and Hıdırlık Tower (route suggested by Yeni Ankara, June 2026).
