Antonio García's sourdough bakery a few streets from the Retiro has collected Madrid's serious baking prizes: best bread in Madrid 2019 (Club Matador, blind tasting chaired by José Carlos Capel), best artisan croissant in Spain 2021, best roscón de Reyes in Madrid 2022 and best pastry shop in the Comunidad de Madrid 2023 (ACYRE). The neighbourhood buys its daily hogaza here; visitors rarely walk this far past the park.
