The square in front of the Palace where the Prince's Carabiniers, on guard since 1917, change at 11:55 sharp in white uniforms in summer and black in winter. Look at the bronze cannons and pyramids of cannonballs (tradition says Louis XIV gave Monaco its first guns), the statue of François Grimaldi 'Malizia' disguised as a monk, and the Renaissance barracks opposite, which housed Monaco's casino in 1862 before Monte-Carlo existed.
