Togo Shrine

東郷神社

Place of worship

A shrine of 1940 to Admiral Togo Heihachiro, who defeated the Russian fleet in 1905, rebuilt in 1964 after the war. It stands near the corner of Takeshita-dori and Meiji-dori, a quiet break from Harajuku's crowds; a small museum to the admiral is in the grounds.
