Vienna's oldest monastery, founded in 1155 for monks from Ireland ('Scotia Major'). The Benedictine museum in the former abbot's rooms holds the Gothic Scots Altar, two of whose panels show Vienna around 1470, the oldest views of the city; the church is a basilica minor.
